UberPOOL For Drivers
Last Updated on February 8, 2018 by Rideshare Community Support
UberPOOL for drivers work by matching together different riders heading in the same direction. Giving drivers multiple pickups and drop-offs on the same trip. Multiple drop offs on the same trip increases a driver time on trip earning. This helps drivers reduce the amount of unpaid time spent between trips, which many drivers are thrilled to have the opportunity to drive UberPOOL.
A few ways UberPOOL is different from other service options on the rideshare platform:
❶ An UberPOOL trip is now limited by the capacity of the driver’s vehicle and may involve multiple trips.
❷ Because riders are matched based on similar routes they cannot change their pickup location or their destination.
❸ The driver will need to drop off the riders in the order provided by the app unless something requires an unexpected change.
Here’s A Quick Walk Through:
■ You accept the POOL request like any other trip and drive to the first pickup location.
■ A second rider can be found at any point during the trip.
■ The second rider can be found when you are driving to your first pick up location, when you’re waiting for the first rider to come outside or after you’ve made your first pick up and are driving to their destination.
■ If another rider is found when you’re driving to your first riders destination. Simply tap to accept and you’ll automatically be rerouted to the next pickup location.
■ It doesn’t matter if your next rider is found before, during or after your first pick up, you will receive a notification and here the same sound as an incoming requests.
Just so we are clear… You just tap to accept and the next rider is added to your trip.
When To Cancel
For the best Uber experience it’s recommended that all riders be on time. If the rider is not at the pickup location when you arrive Uber suggest that you wait one minute before calling them. If the rider still hasn’t shown up after two minutes or request to be picked up at different location, Uber suggest that you canceled the trip.
Qualification:
UberPOOL requirements are the same as uberX. Therefore if you are an UberX driver it’s pretty safe to say you will qualify.
Conclusion Overview:
○▸ Accept the UberPOOL request and start driving to your first pick up location.
○▸ Another rider was found while driving, tap to accept and continue to the first pick up.
○▸ When the first rider is in your car, slide to begin their trip.
○▸ Next it’s time to pick up your second rider. Tap OK and drive to the second pickup location.
Once the second rider is in your car it’s time to make your drop offs.
○▸ You may also get a third request along the way! Either rider could be dropped off first it’s based on which destination is closer not on the order they were picked up.
○▸ When you reach the first destination, end that riders trip. Tap OK to see the route to your second destination. When you arrive at each destination make sure you end the trip.
○▸ After the last drop off you’ll receive a fair summary and will be given the opportunity to rate each rider individually.
