Driver ConcernUber Penndot Safety Inspection Sticker

Before you can start driving with Uber Pennsylvania, the law in the city requires all Uber drivers to inspect their car every year or 50,000 miles. Which ever one comes first.

The good news is that Jiffy Lube is giving discounts on inspections for partners. Pep Boys don’t give any known discounts, but they are also handling inspections for Uber. Or you can go to another licensed facility. But, Uber will not cover the cost if you get your inspection done by a 3rd party inspector. Sorry.

If you pass, then you are ready to upload the form and your receipt to your account. If you do not pass, you will need to do the required maintenance necessary to pass. However, Uber will not pay for this.

If You Already Have Your Penndot Sticker

Then, you have to upload a photo of you state inspection sticker which is located on your windshield.

The easiest way to take this photo is from inside the car so Uber actually need a photo of the backside of the sticker and he easiest way to take that shot is from inside the car.

Open your phone to your camera hold it just right near your dashboard, frame the sticker in the shot, press the screen so it focuses, and snap the photo.

Make sure you are be able to read the VIN number the expiration date and the station identification on your inspection sticker. Always take a photo of your inspection sticker in daylight because if you try to do it at night your photos going to show up crappy.

Now it’s time to upload the picture of your sticker to your Uber account through your phone.

From your iPhone or Android device select your web browser and enter partners.uber.com in the address bar at the top.

You can log into your account with the email address and the password associated with your Uber account. When you reached this page:

■ Select the button in the upper left hand corner
■ Go down to vehicles
■ Tap vehicles
■ Select the section for your inspection sticker by clicking edit
■ Tap the blue camera photo library
■ Find the photo you took of your inspection sticker
■ Enter the expiration date and then tap save
