Do Not Over Crowd The Driver’s Car
Uber max passengers capacity can be seen prior to booking your ride via the app. So make sure you are selecting the appropriate option according to the number in your party.
What If A Larger Vehicle Show Up
If your driver shows up in an SUV and you requested an uberX, BLACK or something similar that suppose to fit only 4 passengers – it is not okay for you to add more riders.
It may be confusing but, drivers can drive whatever size Uber approved vehicle they want. If you requested a ride for 4 people, then 4 riders or less are all who should travel with you.
Getting Billed an Upgrade
If you decide to let more than 4 people get in the driver’s vehicle (if the driver vehicle is big enough), you will be charged extra. So expect to get an email from Uber that they have increased your fare.
Even if the driver say it’s alright for others to ride with you, just understand that 9 times out of 10, you will be getting an increased fare bill shortly after.
This might seem unfair since the driver allowed you to have more than 4 riders, we understand – however, that still doesn’t remove the responsibility of paying the increase fare.
Therefore, you should always be mindful of the passenger policy and do your best to not exceed your limit.
If you follow the rider capacity policy you will have nothing to worry about.
