Answer: One thing we all love about Uber is the ability to use certain promo codes to either get discounted or free trips. Although you can add as many promo codes to your account that you’d like, sometimes you might run into an error message that will prevent this from happening. One in particular is the error message letting you know that your invite code already exist. We know this can be frustrating especially if you would like to book a ride right a way.
☛What This Mean: This error means that you have already entered this exact same code on your account or a similar promotion before. Therefore it cannot be entered again. Sorry.
☛How Promo Codes Work: It’s important to note that many promo codes are reserved for new users only, so you can apply a maximum of one new user code to your account before your first trip. If you have already taken your first trip free, you will not be able to enter another first time rider promo code again. If you have not taken your first trip yet, then likely you have an active promo code on your account. Therefore you do not need to enter a new one.
☛Verify Your Promo: You can verify what promo is present on your account by going to https://riders.uber.com and clicking on the “Payment” tab. If you have any active promotions, they will be listed under “Promotions.”
If you see an active promotion on your account, then make sure you read the terms to properly redeem it. Which will be listed next to your promo. With that being said, you will not be able to enter another promo code.
☛Expired Promo: If you noticed that the promo code has expired, then you would need to contact Uber and ask can it be deleted so you can enter a new one.
If you do not have any active promo listed there, that means at some point you have already taken advantage of it and will not be able to do so again.
☛Get Help: If you are still unsure, please contact Uber customer support at support@uber.com and the agent will let you know exactly what’s going on. Unfortunately, this is not an issue you will be able to fix on your own without contacting support for help.
