Uber Boston Additional Information:
Surge pricing: Due to high demand for rides, you might see an increase in rates. The app will notify you when and if this happen. You will have the opportunity to accept it or not.
Payment method: Credit Card, Pay Pal, Apple Pay, AMEX Points, 20% Capital One Cash Back, AAdvantage Aviator MasterCard earn miles.
Tipping: Tipping can be done at your own discretion, but is not necessary. However, the app is already set at a 20% gratuity for TAXI.
Lost Items: Since drivers are not employed by Uber, you should try contacting them first regarding your lost item.
Cleaning Fee: If you make a mess in your driver’s car, they can submit a claim to Uber to be reimbursed. Cleaning fees range from $25.00 – $200.00. This fee is in addition to your fare.
TAXI: Lost an item in your TAXI, please fill out this form or call the Hackney Carriage Unit at 617-343-4475, Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Submit your Boston TAXI complaint here.
Fare Issues: Please contact Uber either via the app or by emailing support@uber.com.
Car Seat: Feel free to bring a car seat alone with you. Drivers are not required to carry a car seat.
Safety: Please confirm the tag number, driver’s picture and vehicle description, as it is shown via the app. Not a bad idea to confirm your driver’s name too.
Promo Code: Promotions of any sort must be applied to your account before you take the trip in order for it to apply towards your ride’s fare.
Airports: Uber drivers are allowed to drop-off riders at curbside of Boston Logan International Airport. But only drivers with Massport stickers can pick-up passengers.
Cancellation Policy: Cancel within 5 minutes to avoid fee. $5.00 for non-luxury vehicles. $10 for luxury vehicles.
