Driver Concern: ★ Understanding Uber Application Status has been a major concern among new applicants applying to become a driver for Uber. Today we will give you the basic breakdown of your status. Now some status info is no longer available for the driver to see. But this will give you a good idea of how things work.
Answer: The entire process with Uber can take 7 business days to over 30 business days. What delays drivers the most is not having in all the correct documents. The background check can take 7-14 business days to clear or longer if you have lived in numerous states.
Remember, the background check goes back the last 7 years so this could take some time to clear for some drivers.
Normally when you are ready to hit the road and Uber has approved you to do so, you will receive a congratulations email or text message.
If you have not received any communication from Uber, you can first log-in to your Uber partners dashboard at partners.uber.com and make sure that you have uploaded all documents.
If nothing seems out of the ordinary there (all documents have been approved) and it’s been at least 7 business days, please check the status of your background check at http://applicant.checkr.com . If your background check has been successfully completed, you can contact Uber support via help.uber.com.
Write in the email that it has been at least 7 business days and you would like a status update. You can add that your documents have been approved and your background check has been completed.
Sometimes there could just be a matter of waiting for everything to update in the Uber system with the results of your background check. This could take an additional few days.
However, if your background check is still pending or something is wrong with your document(s) or you are missing some documents, you are not ready just yet to move forward.
Uber Application Status| Uber Documents Pending
If you are only missing documents or there was an issue with your pending documents, we would advise that you upload the document(s) in a email and send it directly to Uber so they can forward it to the correct department for processing.
The problem with uploading the documents again to your dashboard via the website is that you don’t know if there’s an issue right a way. If you send the requested documents in an email, then an agent will be able to directly confirm if the documents was approved. If the documents was NOT approved they will be able to tell you why and you can work that out right then and there!
Alternately, if you have documents that have been uploaded for more than 5 business days and still pending approval, the wise thing to do here is to attach the same pending documents in an email and say “hey, I uploaded these documents a few days ago. Can someone please approve them? Thanks.” Your documents will get approved much quicker at that point.
Just to give you the heads up that if you fail the background check, then you will automatically be rejected. Please click here to read more about Uber driver application rejection.
