Uber Driver App 2017 🙌
If you would like to download the 2017 Uber driver app, you can do so here. Remember that unless your account has been approved with Uber, you will not be able to do much with the app at this point until you are given the OK from Uber to hit the road. Under normal circumstances it takes about 7 business days to get approved.
Today we are sharing with you a video from another fellow Uber driver that will help brand new drivers before they hit the road. We are also sharing with you the link so you can practice using the app before going live.
Video Description: Jorge an uberX driver said he went to pick up a passenger and ran into another Uber driver who was having trouble with the app. The driver couldn’t figure out how to get pass the passenger rating screen so he could move on to his next trip. This seems to be a common problem among new drivers. Jorge walks you through how to handle an issue like this and gives a few more tips.
■ How to use the Uber app simulator to practice before hitting the road.
■ How to get pass the passenger rating screen.
■ Why it’s important to start off getting 5 star ratings.
■ Goes over the average rating you must maintain.
■ Goes over briefly how much money you can make referring other drivers to Uber.
Uber Driver App 2017
0:00 Hello everyone my name is Jorge and I drive uberX in Atlanta. And the subject
0:06 of this video is going to be, how to do a trial run using the Uber app before you
0:13 actually get out there driving on your first day. Or if maybe you have already
0:17 been out there on your first day driving and did not get as familiar with the app
0:21 as maybe you wish you had.
0:23 There’s a way that you can do that from the comfort of your own home or computer.
0:28 And what I’ll do is I’ll put a link and how to get to that on the description
0:33 below this video, so look for that. In the meantime, I’ll tell you why I’m making
0:38 this video. And uh I was driving and dropping off a passenger in the Alpha area
0:45 recently and after i dropped off a passenger
0:50 I get pinged uh to go pick up somebody else and on my way there I could tell
0:56 I was probably pick up a business person because it was a very heavily
0:59 concentrated corporate area that I was heading to. When I got there, I saw the
1:05 passenger that I was picking up they had a suitcase so I assume they’re heading
1:09 over to the airport. And well next to that passenger there was another Uber
1:15 driver there. And of course they both walked towards me and I basically wanted
1:22 to take care of the passenger first. Cuz i’m watching out for my 5-star rating so
1:26 I helped her with her luggage. And I tell the other Uber driver – actually the other
1:30 Uber driver walked up to me and said, “Hey, I’m am a new Uber driver and I’m having
1:34 problems with the app. Can you help me?” So I said sure just give me a second. I took
1:39 care of the passenger, I put her bags in the trunk of the car and got her into
1:43 the car, told her I would be one second and we’ll be on our way. And it turns out
1:48 that the Uber passenger – he said he was a new driver, first day and he was stuck. And he
1:54 was stuck at the screen that you see right here on the computer. And for those
1:59 of you who are who have been out there
2:02 you pretty much know what the screen is. Basically, the screen that you use to
2:07 rate your passenger when you after you complete the trip. So of course
2:13 he didn’t realize that he could move on, on this he actually did the rating. So I
2:18 basically showed him real quickly and I’ll show you guys right now. You know
2:22 how that works. Basically, you know, I wasn’t gonna ask how he wanted to rate the
2:26 passenger because i was in a hurry. So I told him look you just – you gotta rate your
2:30 passenger before you can uh you know except your next trip. And basically, you
2:35 just hit the star right here that gives him 5 stars and then you slide the
2:41 complete rating blue bar over here and it takes you right back out. And then I
2:49 said I’m sorry can’t help you any further because I gotta get going. And
2:52 then I was on my way. But what this told me was is that there’s plenty of drivers
2:57 out there winging it on their first day. Uh just basically assuming just because
3:01 they use other apps, they will just pick this up as they go. But, at the expense of
3:07 maybe getting some low ratings from passengers if you look like you don’t
3:11 know what you’re doing. And on day one you do want to look like you know what
3:15 you’re doing. So having said that, let me go ahead and show you, uh I did put the
3:21 link up to where this app simulator is. And basically, the way that you get there
3:29 is the link that i showed you is basically takes you to a web page for
3:33 Uber. Okay and if you follow me and follow my mouse. I’m just going to show you the
3:40 page that is going to take you to — going to take you to this page right here.
3:44 You’ll go to this page and you’ll scroll down.
3:48 Okay, there’s a video that you can watch on how the app works, but if you want to try
3:54 the simulator, then you would click on that. Of course, I’ve already done that so
3:57 I’m just going to go to the simulator and i’m just going to show you real
4:00 Obviously, I was on a different screen that most of you guys are so uh you know.
4:05 Basically, you can just get started. And just if you see my mouse here – i don’t
4:13 know if you can see that or not. But, basically you would click on start and
4:17 then it will show you the different steps that you can take. There’s the
4:23 screen right there showing you, you know how do you get pinged
4:26 and in this case you know it’s telling you that the passenger has a 4.9
4:30 passenger rating. And you’re supposed to click on this. Alright, uh before the time
4:39 runs out. Again, you can just navigate and I’ll just quickly show you um some of the
4:46 screens that you will see that will take you through. Of course, it’s not going to
4:53 show you everything you need to know really for that first day.
4:56 Alright, and the reason you know is obviously just can’t show you all the uh
5:03 all the possible scenarios that you might run into with uh the Uber app. For
5:10 example, I have a video that you can check out that will tell you how to
5:15 handle multiple passenger situations or multiple stops. Because that’s not in
5:18 this tutorial right here on the simulator, but at least it’ll get you
5:22 familiar with the app. And you want run into the issues that I think that
5:25 driver was running into. Because basically, what will happen is what you
5:30 want to do is on your first day you want to start out by getting five-star
5:35 Ok and the reason for that is if you get a very very low rating because you’re
5:39 new or you look like you don’t know what you’re doing is going to take you
5:43 because of the law, you know of averages and math – it’s gonna take you a long long
5:48 time to get that average up. Uber requires that you maintain at least a
5:54 4.6 passenger 5-star rating – average passenger rating in order to remain on
6:02 the Uber system. So if you’re starting out with you know threes and twos, you
6:08 can just see how long it’s going to take you even just to just get to the 4.6. And
6:13 of course at the beginning, you know Uber is going to give you a chance to prove
6:17 yourself and they’ll give you up to
6:20 I think, 500 rides and you know to get that settled, but you really want to
6:26 start with five star ratings and one of the reasons why is because your
6:29 passenger or whoever request you, can see (and I’m just gonna click on this
6:34 keep going forever). Your passenger can see what your rating is
6:38 and you know if you got a two or three and a half or something like that it –
6:44 maybe even a four, they may not get a good feeling about you. And they might
6:49 say, “Hey you know, I just rather get another Uber driver.” They might cancel you. And
6:52 you just – you just lose that fare.
6:54 So, having said all this, tryout the simulator if you haven’t done it yet. And
7:03 you know Uber tells you about these things. They’ll send you texts, even
7:06 prior to registering. Maybe once you get activated if you don’t you know hit
7:10 the road right away. You know they’ll send you texts with these links or emails.
7:15 But the problem is that, they send you so many of them that you might miss out on
7:20 knowing. You know, that you had the opportunity to do that simulator. Okay. And
7:26 then the last thing I will say is if you haven’t registered to drive Uber yet and
7:31 you’re about to or you’re getting ready to just make sure that you have another
7:35 drivers promotional code that you can use at the time of your registration. The
7:40 reason for that is, you can cash in on a bonus anywhere between 100 to 500
7:47 It all depends on the city and the offers in the city that Uber is having
7:53 for new drivers. So of course it changes from city to city. And from date to date.
7:57 But basically, you would get that maybe after your first 20 rides or whatever the
8:03 requirements are for your city. And once you do that on your direct deposit you
8:09 will get a nice bonus of anywhere between a hundred to five hundred
8:14 dollars. Again depending on your city. If you don’t have it –
8:18 another Uber drivers of promotional code, you’re welcome to use mine you can see
8:22 it on the description below. Where I’m going to also put the link. I’ll have
8:26 some links in there as to where you can go and do this and that’s pretty much it.
8:32 Please subscribe to my channel. I’m gonna have videos for beginners as well as
8:38 videos that are more advanced nature for drivers that are already out there to
8:43 help maintain the five-star average passenger rating. To help you also make
8:48 more money while you’re out there. Maybe get more pings and if you’re in a market
8:51 where you having to wait quite a bit to get pinged by passengers – there’s some
8:55 strategies that you can use. Again i just want to wish you the best be subscribed
9:00 like my videos and good luck!
