Rider Question: ☀How To Order Uber By Text? Explained here today!☀

At one point, Uber basically did a beta testing where riders could request a ride via text messaging.

Although it was a great idea and it did work, unfortunately it didn’t work good enough for it to remain as an availaOrder Uber By Textble option for us today.

Uber removed the SMS request option because they wanted to continue providing the most reliable and streamlined service. Sadly, text messaging just didn’t make the cut.

Nonetheless, you can still request via an iPhone, Android, and Blackberry apps. You can also request by going to in your mobile browser from almost any device that has an internet connection. People use this mobile site to request their Uber from a table or laptop too.

Here’s some other things to know and consider:

°Make sure you get a fare estimate prior to requesting your Uber

°Understand that your estimated arrival time could change

°Enter your destination in the app beforehand so the driver can know where you are going

°If you need to make extra stops, your drive can leave the meter running

°If you have more than 4 passengers on an uberX rider you can be billed an upcharge

°An Uber driver is not required to help you with luggage, opening your door, etc

°If someone on your trip makes a mess, you could be charged anywhere from $50 – $200

°You are able to split fare with your friends or family

°Just because Uber app is available 24/7 doesn’t mean there will be drivers in your area at all times
